Lace in Place. Making sessions

Aragon lace makers making low resWorkshop/making sessions. February 2012-May 2012.

These voluntary sessions took placed at Bedford Creative Arts, where I was creating the panels for the Lace in Place Installation. The panels were handmade over a period of 11 weeks by twenty-eight local people, some of them members of the Aragon Lacemakers group but half with no previous experience of lacemaking, including 2 volunteers from the BCA Creative Wellness group. “It was a hugely rewarding experience. I didn’t know I had it in me. I loved being part of something creative, working with Arabel and then seeing the result unveiled, knowing I had been part of it.” Ben participant from Creative Wellness group.

This was a time when generations came together, shared their skills and talk about the ins and outs of life.
